“font-family: Verdana; line-height: 13px;”>During its annual Scholarship Brunch the Education Committee of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc awarded $ 3,500 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
“font-size: 9.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: Verdana;”>Recipients were De’Von Washington, Christian Brothers College High School; Jourdon Morgan III, Hazelwood East High School; Chris Johnson, Lafayette High School; and Kendrick Strong II, Mel Carnahan High School. Organizers said, “We continued our philanthropic legacy by upholding our motto, ‘Culture for Service, and Service for Humanity.’”
“font-size: 9.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: Verdana;”>Mr. Anthony McDonald, of the Risen Foundation, allowed all in attendance a preview of literary excerpts from books penned by several of his students. The students spoke from the heart and gave a riveting display of all their hard work. The scholarship program continued with guest speaker, Bro. Eugene Simpson. Bro. Simpson, a father, brother, an educator, brought his entire repertoire and provided an exhilarating call to ACTION.
