Haus of Fashion owner DeArika Binion opened a store front downtown and quickly changed the game.

Boutique business done right. Online Boutiques are the hottest new thing and while I can’t knock anyone’s business, sometimes it becomes hard to tell them apart.

Domi More: Haus of Fashion is making it clear that they are not like everyone else. After just months online, owner DeArika Binion opened a store front downtown and quickly changed the game by offering more than the club gear and graphic tees.

DeArika and her team hosted their first fashion show at J. Bucks downtown. The spot was different but it worked well for the show that merged art and fashion. The William Morris Fashion Gallery presented as well and is one brand I’m expecting to go global. Also spotted was local business man Marius Palmer – who is newly engaged, and from what my sources say is planning a wedding 2015.

Looking forward to further success from this young lady who from what I’ve heard comes first in fashion to others but the boutique is second to her education because Binion isn’t just a boutique owner she holds a Master’s degree in business. Take notes.

Celebrating 155 years at just 35. Christopher Peoples, an owner of Pitzman’s Co., did something not many 35 year olds could do. He celebrated 155 years of his growing business. Peoples, who is a licensed civil engineer and President & CEO for Pitzman’s Surveying Group, began working for the company in his early 20s and is now the majority owner. He held the celebration at Saratoga Lanes in Maplewood which is just above his spacious office. Chris and his lovely wife Katrina were there to greet and celebrate with their employees, clients and even previous owners, Roy Liemberg (whom I just adored meeting) and William Berthold. Also there to support was Peoples’ fellow 100 Black Men member Mac Caldwell

Best dressed for the ball. Cedric The Entertainer brought the city out for his inaugural benefit gala featuring Jill Scott. And while a few of your cousins stepped out looking like they were headed to a show at the Ambassador (no shade, ok just a little) the women came correct. But there was a group of women who stopped the show!

After the show as I was saying my pretend greetings to folks, I spotted the most fashionable group of women. One of them led in style with her zebra print skirt and royal blue button down with matching shoes. Erika Wade did the most in the best way with her outfit that night, because zebra print and royal blue can only be pulled off if your style game is on point. And Ms. Wade did that!

She wasn’t alone in style, because every woman she was with came with the perfect style game including my cousin (in my head) Doniele Troupe – who never disappoints with style. Her pleated skirt and bold blazer served perfectly with that bun. I wish I could name all of the ladies, but head to my Instagram page (@thestlsuite) for a full look and names.

Corporate Holiday Parties COMING SOON. It’s my favorite time of year, the invites for the corporate holiday parties are coming in. Law firms generally have the best parties because they need the biggest release, and I heard the big one is coming December 12.So if you don’t have your invitation soon I guess you will just have to read about it in the #theSTLsuite. I’m open to all holiday parties, so please keep the invites coming, but if you are having a “dry” holiday party, please send my invite through MySpace.

Tea & Crumpets: I believe in justice. I believe in fighting for what’s right. I also love a great selfie. However I do NOT love or respect anyone who stays on social media giving up to date information on how WE are being done wrong and taking selfies up and down every street in Ferguson, but when Election Day hits you go silent. No selfies at the polls? No encouragement to your followers to vote? It appears your phone was out of minutes on Election Day – or your motive is popularity instead of change. We cannot continue to pick our leaders from social media if they aren’t doing the work that matters in the real world.
