On Tuesday, ABC gave the go-ahead “The Law,” a new comedy pilot that features St. Louis native Cedric the Entertainer as its star and executive producer.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, “The Law,” revolves around reserve police officers for the LAPD who balance their full-time off-duty lives with the excitement of being weekend cops.
The project is from ABC Studios and DreamWorks TV. Bob Fisher penned the script and is exec producing the pilot with Cedric and Charles Segars. Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey also are exec producing.
Last development season, Cedric toplined a multicamera family comedy pilot for ABC and ABC Studios that didn’t go forward.
