Earlier this month troubled actor Columbus Short failed to show up for a scheduled court hearing in his domestic violence case, but was photographed partying in Barbados for Kadooment instead.

When Short finally appeared in court he was immediately taken into custody and held on $500k bond.

Short pleaded with the court telling the judge

“I apologize sincerely for missing court. I literally went to Barbados for an HIV charity. I was between a rock and a hard place: the rock being court and the hard place being Barbados and 2,000 kids waiting for me to get there. I’m not disrespecting the court. I will be here for the rest of this trial”

Short later agreed to a no-jail plea deal accepting 3 years of probation, 30 days of community service, 52-weeks of treatment in a domestic violence program, will attend 26 Alcoholic Anonymous meetings, surrender any weapons and stay at least 100 yards away from his estranged wife Tanee McCall.
