According to TMZ.com, comedian Patrice O’Neal passed away Monday night due to complications from a stroke he suffered in October. He was 41 years old.
The “Opie and Anthony” radio show, where O’Neal was a frequent guest, confirmed the sad news via Twitter.
“Yes it’s true that our pal Patrice O’Neal has passed away. The funniest and best thinker I’ve ever known PERIOD.” host Opie tweeted.
O’Neal recently performed on Comedy Central’s roast of Charlie Sheen. The comedy network also televised his first hour-long television special in February, Elephant in the Room. He also guest starred on shows such as The Chappelle Show, The Office and Arrested Development.
