Earlier this week it was announced that the Lifetime Movie Channel was producing a biopic of the late singer Aaliyah starring Disney’s Zendaya Coleman.
Not if her family has anything to do with it…
Aaliyah’s uncle and former manager Barry Hankerson told TMZ.com that the family is very upset that Lifetime did not contact them about the biopic, they did not authorize it and will attempt to block any of Aaliayh’s music from being used in the project.
Hankerson tells TMZ the family is not opposed to the idea of a biopic they just feel Aaliyah’s story is too big for a made for TV movie and is better suited to the big screen.
