Tomorrow night two major names in gospel music will be taking the stage in St. Louis. The RV Tour includes Stellar Award winning and Grammy nominated artists J. Moss and 21:03 and will make a pit stop at the Ambassador. The month-long tour comes to town just in time to be rolled into the celebration activities that have come along with the launch of new local gospel station Praise 99.5 FM.

“This is a tour where we wanted to give back and promote new music and go to places we probably haven’t been in a while,” Moss said.

As they prepare to take the stage, the label mates were excited to discuss not only their upcoming performance, but their journey of faith through music.

“It’s been awesome to be able to merge your faith and your talent for something positive and uplifting,” said Evan of 21:03. “We don’t have to negate the fact that we like to dance and be stylish to be a believer.”

Living the life that he sings about is one of the perks of the genre.

“That’s why I love doing gospel music because it’s not just based on who you are and your artistry, it’s actually changing lives and hearts,” Moss said. “I don’t want to take credit for it. God gives me those directives and we just try to carry them out the best that we can.”

Under the PAJAM music umbrella, both artists have enjoyed more than a decade of success within the gospel music genre.

Born into the legendary gospel musical dynasty that produced the likes of the Clark Sisters, Moss became a household name in his own right within the faith-based music scene with the release of The J. Moss Project.

“I don’t want people to say anything about me at all – I chose gospel music to move people towards Christ, not towards J. Moss,” Moss said. “If people remember my name, great. But I think Mattie Moss Clark and Bill Moss Sr. have done enough to make sure the name goes down in history. This is all about ministry.”

Group 21:03 followed his lead on the PAJAM label and enjoyed a Stellar Award win their first go round in gospel.

Now both are on the road promoting their new albums – Moss’ “Grown Folks Gospel and 21:03’s “Outsider” respectively.

“Our new album is called ‘Outsider’ and the theme of that is to be different to be unique and be comfortable in that when you experience our music and to see us live,” Evan said. “We want you to leave our show being confident in who God made you to be.

Plenty of times we try to shrink ourselves down and conform to the mold of everyone else, so the whole point of this album is telling to people to take how God made you and use that to glorify him.”

J. Moss and 21:03 will be performing tomorrow night at the Ambassador , 9800 Halls Ferry Rd. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the Show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at metrotix.com or by calling 314.534.1111 or the Ambassador box office at 314.869.9090.
