In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar Magazine, Wimbledon champion Serena Williams opens up about her relationship with rap star Common – more specifically, that he was the one who ended their relationship.
She told the magazine that the news broke about their breakup right around the time Common was promoting his new film ‘Just Wright.’ According to her, whenever he was asked about Serena he’d heap such glowing praise, everyone thought the break-up rumors must be false. Even Williams was confused.
(“Beautiful, intelligent woman, fun and spiritual woman. I think she’s an incredible person,” he told Access Hollywood.)
“So I called him after that and I was like, ‘why are you saying all this stuff when we’re not together?’”
She admitted that their schedules kept them apart and that it was Common who wanted out.
“He didn’t want the responsibility. It’s really tough.”
