Vanessa Bryant filed divorce papers on Friday, after reportedly learning of an act of infidelity that became the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.
Sources say Kobe‘s teammates were blabbing to their women about the superstar’s exploits – and those women in turn gave Vanessa the head’s up. According to TMZ, the players often swear their wives to secrecy before dishing on their fellow ballers – but that secrecy is rarely kept. The women are said to all share information about other guys around the league – in part to ensure word will get back to them if their man ever steps out.
Though details of the settlement were not in the document, Vanessa Bryant’s mother, Sofia Urbieta Laine, told The Times in 2005 that the couple chose to forgo a prenuptial agreement after months of negotiations.
The Bryants are reported to be worth at least $150 million. Without a prenup, Gorin said Vanessa would be due about half that amount.
