Local-bred hitmaker Nelly is said to be finalizing an itinerary that will send him across the country on a Spring tour, but not before he hits a string of college campus dates in preparation.
The college warm-up starts next week at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale on March 7 (7:30 pm show). Murphy Lee, Ali and Kyjuan will also be on the trip, which will continue to the Illinois cities of Champaign and DeKalb and will finish up with Columbus, Ohio and Pennsylvania State University.
Fellow rappers Fat Joe and Fabolous have been confirmed as opening acts for the main event tour, which will start in late March and end in May. March dates have been set for Detroit and Kansas City, KS, as well as an April date for Memphis, but no word yet on the St. Louis date.
And, just in case you miss him on tour, make sure you catch Nelly’s next film, The Longest Yard, which opens Memorial Day weekend. The movie soundtrack drops May 17.
