After being arrested and charged with drug possession over the weekend in Tennessee, St. Louis rap and reality TV star Nelly has spoken out via Instagram. His words come two days after his attorney Scott Rosenblum expressed “extreme confidence” that Nelly would be cleared of charges, Nelly offers an update of his own.
The post reads as follows:
“Although I am unable to speak to the legal specifics and my attorney has put out a preliminary statement, I feel the need to take responsibility for my choices in needing to be more aware of all of the people I associate with and allow onto my property while making better choices moving forward. While my instinct of course, is to be accessible to my friends, fans and acquaintances, the last thing I would want to do is compromise the respect and admiration of my friends, family and fans. #KNOWDAT!”*
Nelly was arrested and charged with felony possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia during a stop by a Tennessee State Trooper Saturday morning (Apr. 11).
