After filing a $22 million lawsuit against Snoop Dogg in 2006, the case of Richard Monroe Jr. versus Snoop Dogg is going to trial. Monroe alleges that Snoop hit him with a brass-knuckle microphone during a skirmish at a 2005 concert.
When Monroe jumped on the performance stage, he claims members of [Snoop’s] entourage and security detail struck him and poured alcohol on him during a performance of the hit “Gin and Juice.” On Friday (April 25), Monroe testified that he woke up backstage, naked and in a pool of blood after the altercation.
On Monday (Apr. 27), Snoop and members of his security detail testified that they were reacting because they thought Snoop was being attacked.
“The best way for the injuries not to have occurred (was) for him to stay in his seat and enjoy the show like the rest of the fans,” Snoop added during his testimony.
