South Africa has deemed Blade star Wesley Snipes an “undesirable person” after he entered the country with a fake South African passport, Reuters reported Thursday. “During the interview it was established that Mr. Snipes did in fact have fraudulent South African documentation in his possession,” the Department of Home Affairs said in a statement on Thursday. South African immigration officials stopped Snipes at Johannesburg airport last month after noticing a problem with his passport number, according to Reuters. Snipes has a valid U.S. passport, was allowed to depart South Africa, but his “undesirable person” label means he must now apply for a visa before returning to South Africa. Generally, U.S. citizens do not need a visa to visit the nation. Snipes told authorities that he had applied for proper South African documents through his U.S. attorneys, according to Reuters. He has agreed to participate in an investigation of the incident, the Department of Home Affairs told the news agency.
