The Notorious B.I.G.’s murder case remains a big mystery. A paid police informant, known only as “Psycho Mike” to protect his safety, helped promote the widely held belief that Biggie was shot by an associate of rival rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight with the aid of a dirty LAPD officer. The shooting purportedly came in retaliation for the murder of Tupac Shakur months earlier.
But, during a recent deposition in Voletta Wallace’s suit, Mike admitted he was not telling the truth, according to the Los Angeles Times. Mike, who was incarcerated at the time of Biggie’s death, admitted under oath that his elaborate story was “all hearsay.”
In addition to receiving money from the LAPD and several other law agencies investigating the high-profile shooting, Mike received time off his jail sentence in exchange for his postulations on the shooting n theories that were given credence due to Mike’s well-placed connections. He even picked out a picture of the alleged triggerman, Amir Muhammad.
