Nearly two decades after he gained fame by proclaiming “[expletive] the Police” in a display of rebellion and defiance, Ice Cube is now set to portray a police officer in his newest action-comedy movie, Ride Along.
According to Variety.com, Cube will play a hard-edged cop whose only soft spot is his sister. After learning that she’s engaged to an affluent white psychiatrist, Cube’s character decides to discourage the relationship by taking his potential brother-in-law for a ride along in his squad car.
Ice Cube will produce the film along with his Cube Vision partner Matt Alvarez. Ride Along will also be Cube’s first film for New Line Cinema since 2002’s Friday After Next.
The film will begin shooting this summer.
