Stage, film and television veteran – and St. Louis native – Jenifer Lewis will join the cast of the hit ABC show “Blackish.”
Lewis’ character Ruby is described as follows: “She smothers pork chops with gravy, Dre with love, and would like to flat out smother [Dre’s wife] Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross), who feels the same way about her.”
Lewis has appeared in several television, film and stage projects including Strong Medicine, Girlfriends, The Preacher’s Wife and Jackie’s Back. She most recently starred in Think Like A Man Too and is slated to appear alongside Kevin Hart in the upcoming romantic comedy, The Wedding Ringer.
‘Black-ish’ airs Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. CST on ABC.
