Tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, Jan. 11), local filmmaker Phillip Johnson will be paying tribute to civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. a week ahead of the national holiday that bears his name.

Johnson will allow audiences a sneak peek at his film entitled Beyond Vietnam – Dr. King’s Last Year as well as give them an opportunity to discuss Dr. King’s message of peace at the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis’ Vaughn Cultural Center

In addition to the trailer screening of Johnson’s latest cinematic work, a panel discussion on Dr. King’s anti-war stance and his efforts to promote peace while simultaneously battling racial injustice is also scheduled to take place immediately following the film preview.
