Starting tomorrow night (Thursday, August 21) the Hotbox Virtual Club. STL will celebrate the lives, legacy and contributions of Isaac Hayes and Bernie Mac.
Tomorrow they will have a listening and appreciation party for Isaac Hayes starting at 5 p.m. at Legacy Books and Café. Guests will have the opportunity to reflect on the indelible musical offerings of Isaac Hayes – from his Stax Records credentials to his Oscar-winning work on the Shaft soundtrack.
On Friday (August 22) Hotbox is presenting a special happy hour dedicated to ‘King of Comedy’ Bernie Mac at 6:30 p.m. The “mature audiences disclaimer” more than likely means that some of the clips from his career of “grown folks” comedy will be shared with the crowd.
Legacy’s weekly Friday night Open mic will immediately follow Mac’s tribute.
