The Oprah Winfrey produced, Ava DuVernay directed drama “Queen Sugar” has become the latest in a run of scripted series to pull in big numbers for OWN.
The show pulled in 2.42 million viewers over its two night premiere – the second best debut in the networks’ six year history.
“Queen Sugar” follows “Greenleaf” and Tyler Perry’s “Haves and Have Nots” as scripted dramas prove to be a ratings draw for the network founded by media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
Queen Sugar airs on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on The OWN Network. For additional show information, visit http://www.queensugarown.tv/
