Native St. Louisian and comedy legend Rodney Winfield, who died Monday, February 9, will be remembered today and tomorrow at Ronald L. Jones Funeral Home.
After his honorable discharge from the Navy, Winfield was discovered by Richard Pryor and recorded comedy albums for Stax Records and had a successful career as a standup comedian.
He appeared in films such as Talkin’ Dirty After Dark and Bebe’s Kids. In 1992, Rodney returned to St. Louis where he continued his career.
The wake for Rodney Winfield will take place until 8 p.m. today (Tues., Feb. 17) at The Ronald Jones Funeral Chapel located at 2161 E. Fair (next to O’Fallon Park). The funeral (at the parlor) on Wednesday, February 18th at 11:00 AM. For more information call 314-383-2332.
