TLT Productions, a new production company, will continue its inaugural season line-up with an original musical, “Something Like..Godspell.” The show runs April 14-16 at The Marcelle Theater in Grand Center.
“Something Like…Godspell” is a soulful musical about friendship, loyalty and love based on the Gospel According to St. Matthew. Inspired by the hit musical, Godspell, this musical has original composed music including parables that Jesus Christ teaches in various lessons through song and dance to followers he recruited.
TLT Productions is the creation of the artistic collaboration between musical artist, Tre’von Griffith, known as TreG and playwright, Lauron Thompson. Both have been involved for several years in the St. Louis artistic community. Through the artistic collaboration, the conception of the writing duo began. Since 2008, the duo has created several popular shows, including “VOICES: Sounds of America.”
“The goal of TLT is to be a catalyst for original entertainment highlighting theater and music from young artists in St. Louis,” TreG said. “We want to create a strong sense of community in this growing and artistically thriving city by providing young artists a platform for new works partnering with local artists and groups of every discipline.”
Something Like…Godspell will premiere April 14-16, 2017 at the Marcelle Theater in Grand Center. Show times are at 8pm, April 14-15 and 3pm, April 16. Tickets are $15- $10 and are now available at MetroTix outlets, metrotix.com, 314-534-1111.
