Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles was introduced to millions of fans as co-host of the nationally syndicated “Steve Harvey Morning Show.” And ever since, the rising star’s destiny has been linked to the urban pop culture phenomenon status enjoyed by his radio boss.

Just weeks after the “King of Comedy” stopped at St. Louis’ Chaifetz Arena for one of his final performances before bowing out of comedy with a grand farewell, Harvey’s on-air partner in comedy is hoping to leave a grand impression and introduce himself to a new audience during a three night engagement at the St. Louis Funny Bone that starts tomorrow (Aug. 24).

He’s proved himself an invaluable asset to Harvey’s morning show daily line up and his on-air antics are unmatched. “Nephew Tommy is a one man band with respect to the flavor he brings to Harvey’s show thanks to an array of characters he channels each morning – in a presence that could only be described as multiple radio personality disorder.

Nephew Tommy’s prank phone calls are the stuff of legend – and have subsequently become internet sensations. No one is safe, not even the syndicated morning show competition.  His prank call on “Rickey Smiley Morning Show” star a few years back regarding Smiley’s commitment as a member of Omega Psi Phi can still elicit howling laughter when played for old time’s sake.

But when Tommy steps from out of the studio and on stage to stand before one of the toughest comedy audiences in the country this weekend, he brings a solid reputation that just might lend itself to him eventually settling in to the throne that Harvey vacated earlier this month when he hung up the crown.

For three years, he served as the exclusive opening act on the Luther Vandross tour.

In October 2010, he recorded his one-hour special at the famed Motor City Casino in Detroit and he continues to keep the crowds laughing as he tours nationally to sold out crowds across the country.

Since 2010 Tommy has served as mainstage host of the Essence Music Festival. He’s charged with keeping hundreds of thousands of fans engaged and entertained during the transition for one of the world’s largest urban music festivals and formally introducing industry icons and special presentation over the course of the three-day Essence Music Festival experience.

In addition to his work as a comedian, Tommy is a talented thespian. He was a Theater Major during his days at Texas A&M University – performing in more than a dozen stage plays and studied with the Royal Shakespeare Company of London.

Most recently he blended his comedy and acting experience to create laughs with a small role in “Think Like A Man” – the film adaptation of Harvey’s best-selling book.

Nephew Tommy will perform at the St. Louis Funny Bone (614 Westport Plaza Dr.

Maryland Heights, MO, 63146) from Aug. 24 – Aug. 26. Show times include 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday, 8 p.m., 10 p.m. and midnight on Saturday and 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, visit www.stlouisfunnybone.com or call (314) 469-6692.
