“font-size: 9.0pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: Verdana;”>I decided to feature somethin’ different when I caught up with one of my favorite St. Louis-bred singers, C Jay Conrod. After swallowin’ a featured sushi plate, I had to do a double take and catch up with him as he was traipsing down Washington Ave. downtown. He kindly informed me that local singer J.R. of former gospel and natural cropped fro fame is doing a stint down at the Dubliner. As I agreed to check it out, I walked into the “European” pub unsure of what I was going to be served with. But thanks be to the wig gods, that I received a healthy helping’of blue-eyed soul as one of the featured singers in the line-up gave me the chills. A wolf howl had nothing on him as him as he beasted through James Brown’s “I Feel Good” and Rick James “Give It To Me Baby.” As he went from guitar to tambourine all the while twisting and turning on the dance floor, I was sure Adam Levine was somewhere loadin’ a sawed off shotgun at the audacity.
