Back on the clowns. They could have used Cindy and her funny (or anybody’s for that matter) for the Def Comedy Jam finals at the Laughs on the Landing last Friday. Even though I want to give big ups to McGriff with his crazy tail, I really need to know how some of those folks made it past their first joke in front of the judges, let alone to the finals. Hopefully this was some kind of scam and the comics had to pay an entry fee.

I thought it was going to be the same show twice, so I got their early for the 11:30 p.m. show and caught a little bit of the first set to see what they were working with. But it was an altogether different group for the late night show and from what I saw, the early birds got the laugh.

That 2nd set’s funny was more watered down than the last pitcher of Kool- Aid before payday. And if the person was from out of town it was almost a guarantee that you wouldn’t even get a piece of a chuckle, ‘cause their jokes were over before they even began.

They did a block of them from Chicago, Kansas and Philly, and if I had the choice I would have taken sittin’ in jury duty over watching those desperate unfunny folks try to snatch a laugh out of somebody.
