As mad as I am at Chingy, I can’t go off on him. In fact, I’m not mad any more. Circumstance ran interference on both of our sit-downs. It’s all good. Things happen when you’re a big baller, shot caller and don’t need the local black press anymore. But it’s good not to be needy. I would’ve rolled up on him Tuesday for an interview during his CD Release at the Drunken Fish on the Landing, but who wants to talk shop at a party. I sure didn’t. Me and the rest of the party people got down. I know ya’ll kept your drink receipts to compare to the price of drinks on other nights – if you know what I mean. Anyway, I just wanted to ask if he and Ludacris are really cool. In a Post-Dispatch interview Chingy said he and Luda are cool, but when Luda was here last weekend at the HOT 104.1 studio he told the personalities play a new song that explains where he and Chingy are. This was no love song. The personalities didn’t throw any follow-up questions at Luda after the song, but I was like how is Luda gone roll up in the Lou and bust on our homie like that? As Mike Tyson would try to say – that’s ludicrous. Hopefully, they’ll work it out. Jermaine Dupre, another ATLer was town for Chingy’s CD release party. Also showing love were Lil Mo, Remy Ma, Bun B, Kyjuan, Nick Loftis, Penelope, Harold Guy, Chocolate Tai, Big Chuck, Potzee, Ashaki, Neco, Jacque Land, Zee, Allstars, Jakada, Eye Candy Models, Ahmit, Ajule, Mo Spoon, Maranda Witherspoon and Jon Burns. Speaking of Jon, you know the owner of Plush, word is that he’s about to open a sophisticated, upscale club for the classy folks. (Maybe he’s gonna let drive-by shooters have Plush). The name of it is Society. I’m feeling that. Way to tap into your genteel side. Finally, another nice place to go in the Lou. Thank you, thank you.
