1st Fridays came back with the biggest of bangs thanks to a joint venture with Liquid Assets and a handful of other promoters that pooled their money to present Serayah a.k.a. Tiana from “Empire” to STL fans. I was expecting to see a club full of girls paying homage Cookie Lyons in animal print, faux fur and “all.leather.everything” showing their support. Instead, there was an overwhelming population of ladies dressed like Lucious Lyons. Baby, they strolled throughin crispy pressed button down shirts, blazers and loafers. Hey, I ain’t mad. And I know the Marquee wasn’t mad either, because the alternative lifestyle ladies buy all types of drinks as part of their seduction tactics. Anyway, I was so thrilled that nobody seemed to be put off by the blended crowd and everybody had a great time and it was the most packed the Marquee had been in a while on a Friday night. It was a good look for STL and Serayah was as cute as she could be in her gold Shug Avery 2.0 get up.
