If you all are into fashion shows and dazzle, check out the La Revue Josephine: A Tribute to the Grand Fashion of a St. Louis Icon. It’s a fashion show in honor of the late great performer, the ever-styling Josephine Baker, at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday, June 2 at the Sheldon Art Galleries. It’s part of a citywide celebration honoring what would have been girl’s 100th birthday. Don’t stress over the $50 to $150 ticket price, it’s a fundraiser for the Josephine Baker: Image and Icon exhibit at the Sheldon Arts Galleries. Word is that the highlight of the evening will be the red-carpet fashions of Allen B. Schwartz and A.B.S. and his glamorous tribute to Miss Baker. Schwartz? Oh, fashion buyers have dubbed boyfriend “the master of trend” for bringing runway trends to fashion consumers in record time. His fashions range from innovative and edgy Allen B denim, classic styles and pure elegance in evening gowns and day dresses. The “blackarati” should be in the house for this one. I’ll be busy working my second job on a gasoline come up. Unless the event sponsors – Tiffany & Co., St. Louis Magazine, Dillard’s, 609 and Finlandia Vodka – want to sponsor a sister at the pump. For tickets, the “afrostocracy” can call Metrotix at (314) 534-1111.
