1) Infinity Broadcasting (which owns KMOX, KEZK and Y-98) isn’t going to do it because they already have strong radio stations.

2) Radio One DEFINITELY isn’t going to do it because they just flipped from “Q” to Foxy when they weren’t making enough money off of the younger demographic.

3) Clear Channel already has the sole Urban/Hip-Hop station in St. Louis,

which is 100.3 The BEAT, so that’s a no-brainer.

4) Bonneville (which owns The River, The Arch, WIL and WRTH-AM) isn’t going to do it because they are more of a conservative company. They are based in Salt Lake City, Utah and they do NOT do Urban/Hip-Hop formats. There isn’t one in their portfolio.

5) Emmis Communications (owners of K-HITS, The Point, 97.1 FM Talk, K-SHE and RED @ 104.1) MAY be the one to do it. Emmis owns some of the hottest hip-hop stations in the country: Power 106 in Los Angeles, Hot 97 in New York, Power 92.3 in Phoenix and Hot 93.3 in Austin, Texas. BUT with this local general manager’s track record I don’t know if that will happen. The only station I could see them flipping to Urban/Hip-Hop would be RED@104.1 since they have been struggling for numbers since they started. But like I said before that is a BIG if!!!!!
