The new jazz loft club was on and popping again last Wednesday night. But what do you expect when it’s a birthday party for boxing trainer/promoter Kevin Cunningham? Boyfriend had the place packed with movers and shakers, bob and weavers, whiplashers and hoobellatoos. Hoobellatoo is a West African word meaning “wonderful and/or beautiful people” and the namesake of multimedia documentary endeavor. Too local heavyweights fell through for me to name names because I would want to leave anyone out. But oh what a part it was, and it was put together at the last minute. Just think if they planned ahead. Speaking of planning ahead, I learned that Kevin is lining up a couple of fight tickets. I know our boy Cory Spinks is on one card with Layla Ali.
