Somebody wrote me some wicked stuff this week about how stupid I am for saying that mixed-race kids are beautiful. He or she (though it sounds like a mean old he) said this comment is “written to the

exclusion of black-looking (especially) and white-looking people.”

Woa! No. Just because a mixed child is beautiful doesn’t mean black and white children are not beautiful. It just provides real clear evidence that race-mixing isn’t evil in the eyes of God and should not be hated in the eyes of man and woman.

Hater goes on to say, “When a black woman is dating/marrying a white man, he’s not represented as ‘just a white man,’ he’s represented as the ENTIRE system that degraded and dehumanized blacks for CENTURIES. I guess the question that many people ask is, ‘How can you date/marry the SYSTEM OF OPPRESSION that is keeping your own race down?'”

Yeah, um, no doubt. Lecture not needed. Like I said, race makes people crazy. This is crazy talking, trying to hold individuals responsible for the collective sins of a race. I’m sticking with sanity.

Keep it coming from hater: “If you’re wondering why blacks STILL have color and skin tone issues in the community with regards to light and dark skin and certain textures of hair n your (expletive) comment on biracial children solidified it. So many black people feel the way you do n either implicitly or directly n and it makes them sick n literally. People that are dark-skinned with nappy hair feel they are lacking in beauty.”

Nope once again. You can’t get there from what I said. Black is beautiful. Some would say white is beautiful (here ain’t the place to sweat that). But mixed brown children tend to be beautiful, too, and recognized as beautiful even by people with racist views about race mixing.

That was my only point. I was not trying to tell people their black skin is ugly or their nappy hair nasty. That ain’t my trip at all. I was just hating on racism. I guess you hate that!
