Mecca, St. Louis’s new upscale Caribbean Soul Food Restaurant, is opening its doors beginning with happy hour this evening, 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at 4902 Natural Bridge (off Euclid). There are themed nights: Monday is Smokin’ Grooves Reggae Night; Tuesday, After Work Jazz; Wednesday, Simply the Blues; Thursday, Civil Workers Thursday; Friday, Jack and Jill Fridays (neo-Soul, rap, R&B; Saturday, Simply Mature Saturdays (40 and over for classic hits); Sunday, a Gospel Brunch, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Breakfast and lunch is served daily (crumb snatcher must be accompanied by adults). One theme nights, brothers must be at least 30, ladies 25. You won’t believe this place. It’s not only a taste of good food the way we like it, but it’s a taste of class the way we like it. I’ll be there to toast this grand establishment into existence.
