I want to give a shout to two special groups who made it a point to partake in the festivities of the holiday season while keeping the less fortunate in mind. Free Time’s 10th Party For A Purpose had folks kicking it in their work clothes Wednesday night at Soho and on Thursday the Urban League Young Professionals got their mix and mingle on at the Malt House Cellar. As much as I enjoyed peeping both scenes, I was more struck by the mountain of toys and thousands of dollars that both groups received based on solicitation of donations for the sake of making sure families from all walks of life have the opportunity for a merry Christmas.
