Speaking of Pisces. There will be another Pisces Bash this Wednesday (March 12) night at Studio Blu, celebrating JoJo’s b-day, so be sure to roll through – I will.

Everybody wanted some Eye Candy. So I’ve decided to take this time to make an official public service announcement to anybody who might be throwin’ parties or events. DO NOT PLAN TO HAVE AN EVENT ON THE SAME DAY OF THE EYE CANDY PARTY. They might have to move the March party to whatever the new name for Riverport is (what, don’t act like the name doesn’t change every other Tuesday. By the time the paper comes out, it might be something else and I don’t want to risk being behind), because it was burstin’ at the seams up in there. And they came in shifts too. There were at least two times that I looked around and a whole new crowd rotated in. I had some business to handle, so I had to cut up out of there before the winner was selected, which is another story, but I’m willing to bet that it was somebody fly. I’ll be able to stay the whole time next month – I promise. I really don’t even need to tell anybody to go, ‘cause y’all obviously know the drill and will empty out grocery stores and gas stations and head over to whichever spot they hold it at like it’s the million-man nightclub march.

Free Time vs. Zodiac. Some of the hottest young party promoters went head to head Saturday night with parties downtown. As far as who brought out the crowd, as much as I wanted to declare a winner – I must admit that they were neck to neck. I stopped through Free Time’s set at Nelly, Larry Hughes and ‘nem’s Sky Box on the Landing. The Free Time fellas really brought out the beautiful people. The only down to the set was the fact that my chocolate sunshine Roy Rob(inson) was out of town. Just typin’ about it made a tear fell onto my keyboard.

After I sized up the competition for sexiness, I strolled on over to the J. Buck’s for the Soul Stylz, Precision and I knew it was going to be that hotness when 80% of Debarge 2K8 was in the building. (Handsome) Rob, Rhashad (The Hotstepper), Renaud (Ruckus) and Keith (Hollywood) were representing my creation to a T. The other Griffin brother wasn’t there – which works out great because he’s going to be the mysterious one. Even still, I’m thinkin’ about addin’ Cornell Boone from Soul Stylz as an alternate – for diversity purposes. But back to the party. It was packed as well. As a matter of fact it got even more crowded when the Skybox shut down and the folks who were at FreeTime’s set mosied on over to the J. Buck’s.

Madness at the Koch Madness. The hip-hop contest’s finals were last Sunday at the Loft and it was an entertaining experience to say the least. Joka, Nite Owl, The Carrie Boyz and Champ (L.L. Cool J Jr.) were the finalists and from the gate Nite Owl and Joka stood out as the frontrunners. As the scores were tabulated we were fortunate enough to have Ray J (Brandy’s brother) give the most half-hearted song and I guess you would call it “performance” I’ve ever seen in my life. It seemed like Ray-Ray had a special trap door installed on the stage so he could dip out, because I turned around to do ten seconds of people watchin’ and boyfriend had left the building. DJ Unk was pretty regular as well, but luckily for him he had some woman with these black church shoes on that was the hippest thing that I’ve ever seen in my life. If you google the word crunk, you’ll see a picture of her in those shoes workin’ up a sweat. When “Walk it out” came on, those shoes were clackin’ harder than my Big Granny’s would when she would run in the house after church when she realized she forgot to turn the roast off.

Nite Owl was declared the winner, but DJ Unk declared – on his own accord – that Joka would get a deal too. It was a good thing but I kind of felt sorry for Nite Owl when Unk broke the news. Because they cued up Joka’s music and Tha Deck bumrushed the stage – meanwhile Nite Owl was off to the side holdin’ the check like he was just holdin’ it for Joka. Congrats to both of them and a crazy shout out to the Hot 104.1 family for bringing a straight shot at the big time to the STL.

Doing it Big on BET’s Runway. Did y’all see how St. Louis was big-time reppin’ on BET’s Rip the Runway Tuesday night? If Nelly hostin’ wasn’t enough, we had another St. Louis homegrowner reppin’ on the designer side of things. Our very own Qristyl Frazier was one of the featured designers during the Big Sexy segment. Did y’all peep that hot lemon yellow freakum dress? I’m tryin’ to get up on that item so I can wear it when I go get my taxes done. What? I’m tryin’ to get all of the deductions I can if you get my drift.

Road Trippin. Since I’m already talkin’ about taxes, I might as well tell y’all (if you haven’t done so already) not to spend all of your refund just yet. Two of the hottest promoters on the scene are takin’ their shows on the road next month and you can use that extra change to do it big when you go out of town. My boy Big Tah is on is way to the ATL for April 4-6. Call him at (314) 713-0926 or e-mail him at bigtah06@hotmail.com for the info. So Diverse, Precision and Mocha Latte are takin’ a trip to the Windy City (Chicago) on April 11th. For details e-mail SODIVERSE@YAHOO.COM call 314.761.1285.

Get chic with your networkin’. Jakada Clothing is holding a Networking party for Demond, Kareem and Kausta at Binion’s (5917 Delmar) on Saturday night (March 8) starting at 9:30 p.m.
