Please don’t act like you don’t know…that’s right the HAUTEST (that’s couture talk for hot) formal gala in the STL, you know it as the 23rd Annual Salute to Excellence in Education Scholarship & Awards Gala, is one week (and one day) away. And there is still hope for me to fit into my gown. I refuse to interrupt my swag by being forced to cover up with a windbreaker and/or Members Only jacket.
But anyway, I’m not being vain by saying “Salute” is one of the most spectacular celebrations of excellence in the nation. And when you take into account that we pay tribute to educators instead of celebrities, Salute is in its own galaxy.
Before y’all accuse me of gloating, I’ll leave it up to anybody to ask anyone who has EVER been to ANY Salute to co-sign and I’m certain they will be more than willing to do so.
And I haven’t even started on the Budweiser Select After Party with Doc Love. The only time I can remember of having such a good time in a formal dress that even came close was Normandy High School’s Prom circa 1988 – it was such a good time that I don’t exactly remember the year. But EVERY YEAR at Salute is an unforgettable one. Don’t take my word for it. As of today, we may still have a handful of tickets left.
