The next time anyone hears Gary “G-Thang” Johnson, also known as Scary Johnson or G-String, telling jokes please believe the jokes might be stolen from a much funnier comedian. Word in the industry is that G-String is jacking good comedians for their material. But the world is too small for him to get away with. He can run with other people’s jokes, but he can’t hide, but wouldn’t you know he tried to. When Gary (or scary), in this case, was confronted by hilarious comedian Corey Holcom, Scary Johnson wouldn’t come outside of the comedy club until a big cat he called showed up. Corey just wanted to ask him to stop stealing his jokes, but Scary Johnson, or G-String as they call him in LA, played the spook who sat by the comedy club door until his cat showed. He didn’t scare Corey who just wanted to tell G-String, who hid behind Capt. Save-a-Comedian, to stop stealing his material. Corey was in town last week at Jessie Taylor’s weekly Wednesday comedy show at Toxic. It’s the bomb because Jessie will make you hurt yourself and he has new material every week. By the way, G-String has also jacked Jessie for good material. Word is that Scary Johnson embezzles jokes from LA comics and uses them on STL audiences. Then he heists STL jokes and tells them in LA. Anyway, Corey was off the chain at Jessie’s show Wednesday and at the Improv Theatre on Thursday. He has men’s backs when it comes to women who put men down. Check this, after asking the crowd for their definition of a baby mama, he gave his. He said a baby mama is someone who works with the government to extort money from a man.
