I finally recovered after not getting to Alicia Keys and John Legend’s concert at the Fox last Wednesday for some suspicious reason that I won’t get into now.
But what was up with the buzz and the aftersets? More people seemed to be kicking John’s name than Alicia’s, and more showed up for John’s afterset. Go figure. But that’s all behind me now, and I’m ready for this big weekend ahead.
It actually starts today, Thursday, with Common at The Vault and Stephen Jackson of the Rams at Plush. It just rolls on from there, starting with Stress-Free Fridays at Plush, 1st Friday at Seven and Models and Bottles III at Plush later that Friday. Saturday, St. Lunatic Kyjuan is doing his kiwi green thing at Plush, and Seven is bringing in the show, Doug E. Fresh. Of course, Nelly’s concert is still on Sunday, but can you guess where his afterset is going to be? You’ll have to roll up on it, because they didn’t want me to let the cat out the bag. Also on Sunday, the 5 Spot will debut at The Vault. Now, of course with the Final Four here, there will be even more parties than these.
