Friday night I braved that funky weather and headed to Niche, the joint set by Shift 58 BFree at Mandarin. I was expecting all the beautiful people to be in the place – and was absolutely right. Let me just speak for a second on how much life I’m getting from the folks representing Wakanda with their club wear. First on that list was my boy Teddy, though I was torn on whether it was inspired by Africa or a Kung Fu master. What? Y’all know that shirt looked like T’Challa meets Bruce Leroy. That doesn’t mean I didn’t live. And speaking of catching life, I’m going to go on the record and say that Jamila Boone’s post-baby snapback is on par with Ms. Jackson herself! In all fairness, Jamila is not in her 50s. But, Jamila doesn’t have unlimited coinage to devote to a personal trainer, chef or surgeon like Janet. But that shape is snatched to the gods nonetheless. Actually, the whole party was full of well put together people who refused to let the nonstop drizzle rain on their parade.
