Saturday I got a chance to stop by Plush for my man BJ’s 40th Birthday Party. Turns out Saturday was also hometown hero Cory Spinks’ birthday as well. Word on the street has it that earlier in the week Spinks offered BJ’s wife $1,500 to throw her hubby’s big 4-0 bash elsewhere so that he could have VIP all to himself. She said N-O.

From the way things looked up in VIP on Saturday night, though, Spinks does not take no for an answer. While BJ’s guests, with invitations in hand, were being turned away into the snow and rain, Spinks and his entourage where able to enter the club with no problems. Things really got messy when club security turned away BJ’s mother and even put their hands on her to keep her from entering the club. Needless to say, that’s when things got serious.

Once Spinks and his crew arrived in VIP, Plush security attempted to force BJ and his guests to give up their seats so that Cory and his folks could sit down while they sipped their high-dollar Champagne. By this time, BJ and his wife had had enough, so they packed up their balloons, food and uncut cake, loaded up their 25-person stretch limo, and drove off into the sunset. Word also has it that they might be seeking legal action against the club for breech of contract.

A side note to Plush and to Cory, St. Louis loves you both, but it never pays to run over the people that help make you who you are.
