Ahmad Givens, known as Real on the VH1 television shows “I Love New York” and “Real Chance of Love,” has died after a long battle with cancer. He was 33. TMZ.com originally broke the news of Givens’ passing.
The reality star was diagnosed with stage-4 colon cancer in 2013 and his condition worsened after he took a fall in January, TMZ reported. He had reportedly been confined to a bed since the accident. Givens had undergone surgery in Decemer 2013 to remove cancerous polyps and tumors in his liver.
His brother Kamal Givens, who also appeared on the VH1 reality shows that made Ahmad famous, posted a tribute to his brother online, writing on Instagram: “I’ll see you one day soon we shall dance again in God’s kingdom forever and ever bro words can’t describe my pain world pray for me!”
TMZ reported Ahmad was having trouble with his vision and speech Friday night during a family visit and family members believed he would not make it through the night. He passed away hours later.
