Check this out. I heard STL has its own roller derby team just now getting started! You know, like ladies on wheels whacking the kook out of each other? The girl who told me said there are no sisters involved yet, but she’s open to integration. Or maybe somebody could talk to her about starting another team along the same lines. On girlfriend’s website, www.archrivalrollergirls.com, she says that curious rollergirls should show up at the next meeting this Sunday (Dec. 4) at 8 p.m. at Blueberry Hill. She also says, “We are just practicing HOW to rollerskate right now and getting to know the new faces. So don’t worry about not being a pro. None of us are. Just be sure to bring some kneepads because you may have a couple spills. The real rumbling won’t start for some time.” It’s a tough sport, but STL sistas are some of the toughest on wheels, and you know that’s true.
