at Compton Drew Middle School. Co-chairs Esta

Johnson and Tabatha White planned a

spectacular presentation for December 3, 2011. The primary goals

were to raise funds for eighth grade graduation festivities this

spring and to provide an evening of elegance for the

students.

The educators  wanted to provide the children with a positive,

formal experience they would remember later in life. The debutantes

were dressed in beautiful white gowns, the escorts in black suits

and white gloves. The student participants executed the cotillion

with grace and confidence. The evening was heartwarming. Another

goal was to teach young men the importance of treating the women

respectfully.
