Talia Marcelle Elue Bennett, Miss FASHIONETTA 2015

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gamma Omega Chapter presented its 31st Annual FASHIONETTA(SM) Scholarship Cotillion on Sunday, May 24, 2015 in the Grand Ballroom of the America’s Center with over 700 people in attendance. 

Fourteen lovely young ladies were presented at the annual event:  Racquel Aja Lynnise Addison, Taylor Anise Baker, Tymine Sydney Barnett, Talia Marcelle Elue Bennett, Chelcee Brianna Binder, Alexis Renee Colbert, Jazlyn Alexandria Green, Marilyn Elizabeth Izetta Monroe, Meleiah Danielle Raspberry, Kinyata Neshea’ Robinson, Chloe Leah Stallion, Dominique Nikole Taylor, Tamera Elawna Thomas and Theresa Bocage Thompson.

The escorts for this event were:  Jaryn Amir Blackshear-Bryant, Collin Darrington-Lamont Carter, Steven Edward Combs, Jr., TyJuan Monreal Horton, Cameron Jacob Hykes, Shayn D’Andrea Jackson, Gavin Senaj Lowe, Quincy D. Mack, Rodney LaVale Monone II, Jaylen Elon Smith, Jullian Robert Snipes, Kenya Jalani Thompson, Jeremy Townsend and Donavan Eric Jamal White.

FASHIONETTA(SM) is a trade mark of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a fundraising activity for the sorority’s philanthropic endeavors.  Debutantes and escorts participate in an eight month experience which includes church service, college preparation workshops, community service, entrepreneurial workshops, etiquette & fine dining experiences, healthcare, Mother – Daughter Luncheon and an overnight retreat.  All of the debutantes receive a monetary award if they meet the minimum requirements.  Over $38,500 was awarded to the debutantes and escorts in scholarships.

Talia Marcelle Elue Bennett was crowned Miss FASHIONETTA(SM) 2015, daughter of Vincent and Christina Bennett.  Talia is a 2015 graduate of John Burroughs School, will attend Ohio State and major in International Business and Dance.

First runner-up was Miss Chloe Leah Stallion, daughter of Mark and Flora Stallion.  Chloe is a 2015 graduate of Mary Institute Country Day School (MICDS) and will attend Vanderbilt University.

Second runner-up was Miss Theresa Bocage Thompson, daughter of Victor and Nancy Thompson.  Theresa is a 2015 graduate of Mary Institute Country Day School (MICDS) and will attend Tulane University.

Third runner-up was Miss Jazlyn Alexandria Green, daughter of Ulas and Jackie Green.  Jazlyn is a 2015 graduate of Westminster Christian Academy and will attend University of Missouri @ Columbia.

Fourth runner-up was Miss Chelcee Brianna Binder, daughter of James Binder and Shuntel Bozeman-Baldwin.  Chelcee is a 2015 graduate of Metro Academic and Classical High School and will attend Tennessee State.

Commentators for the Cotillion were Ms. Sharon Stevens and Mr. Adrian Washington.

Chairman for FASHIONETTA(SM) 2015 is Carla Moore and Co-Chairmen Ruby Grady and Michelle Sanders.  Coretta Bozeman is the President of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Gamma Omega Chapter.
