In the continuing shakeup at Clear Channel’s urban contemporary stations, Guy Torry announced today that he is leaving the morning drive-time Breakfast Crew show on MAJIC 104.9 to pursue his acting and writing career.
Torry had joined Tony Scott and Tammy Holland for just over two years, but said the workload was getting to be too much.
“I’ll miss you,” he told his crew members.
“But sometimes I was getting like an hour’s sleep before coming on.”
Torry said he had already decided to not travel for a year before he was approached about joining the MAJIC morning shows.
But he has since resumed out-of-town comedy shows and movie projects.
Also on Monday, The Steve Harvey Show made its debut on 100.3 The Beat, another Clear Channel station. Dee Lee’s morning show became a casualty last week at the station.
