The Oprah Winfrey Network premiered its Saturday prime time line-up on March 31 with the return of the popular original series “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s”(8 p.m. CST), posting a series high of .49 W25-54 and 512,000 total viewers (up triple digits +133% versus the fall premiere on Oct. 15, 2011 in W25-54 and+133% W25-54 versus year ago numbers and posting double digit growth versus the series average up +23% W25-54).

Immediately following “Sweetie Pie’s,” the network debuted the new original series “Beverly’s Full House” (10-11 p.m. ET/PT) which posted a network high in the time period with a .44 W25-54 and 388,000 total viewers (up double digits +83% W25-54 versus year ago numbers and up +45% in total viewers).

The two series were the highest rated original series of the night in their respective time periods for African American women 25-54.

In addition, the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) has nominated “Welcome To Sweetie Pie’s” for the 2012 NAMIC Vision Awards.

Now in its 18th year, the awards recognize original programming that depicts the lives, spirit and contributions of people of color and best reflects the diversity of the global viewing audience.
