The McCluer North athletics department named Amber Tate as its Student-Athlete of the Month for October. Tate, a senior, is currently ranked third in her class and is carrying a 4.3 GPA. She was a letter winner for the Lady Stars girls volleyball program during the 2015-16 school year and was a starter this season as a setter. Tate also runs track and is a member of the National Honor Society, president of the Best Buddie program, a Special Olympics buddy, and a member of the Spanish Honor Society.
