Fire destroyed a vacant home in the 3900 block of North 20th Street near Hyde Park on Monday afternoon. Firefighters battled the blaze from three different locations around the structure. -

6th Ward Ald. Kacie Starr Triplett spoke recently at a rally in support of returning control of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to city government. Triplett’s 6th Ward is one of only four wards in the city that gained, rather than lost, population in the 2010 Census. Triplett’s 6th ward went up in population 19 percent. Only the 7th Ward, which encompasses most of Downtown, had more population gain in the city over the last decade. -
