The 91st Central Regional Conference of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. brought over 4,000 members from eight states to America’s Center in St. Louis, undeterred by a weekend of severe weather. Inside the bustling convention space, attendees explored engaging exhibits and gathered for powerful programming, including a memorable public meeting featuring heartfelt remarks from International President Danette Anthony Reed, Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, and a soul-stirring impromptu keynote by Rev. Traci Blackmon. The weekend closed with the electrifying “STEPtacular In Full Bloom” step show, where Chicago’s Theta Omega Chapter claimed first place with a powerful tribute to Black women soldiers of WWII.
