Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, Inc. (LSEM) is seeking a high caliber attorney to staff its newly
funded William G. Guerri Chair for children with
special education needs. The attorney will work in LSEM’s Children’s Legal Alliance and will provide representation to children and families in all aspects of education and child advocacy law. Responsibilities include case management, legal research and writing, attendance at IEP meetings, drafting administrative and court documents, representation in administrative hearings, and litigation in state and federal court.
In addition, the attorney has responsibility for community outreach activities, development of community
education/trainings programs, and participation in collaborative efforts with agency partners. Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills necessary. Must be licensed in Missouri or able to sit for the next Missouri bar exam. This position is funded for three years. Salary: $32,500 plus benefits.
