I was watching television the other day, and I saw where one of the well-known sitcom stars had died that day.
I did not even know he was sick.
That is the way it usually goes with celebrities. One day you are enjoying watching them work in athletics, television on stage or wherever, and then you find out they have died.
That is why I am always surprised when I watch the end-of-the-year review shows and they pay tribute to those who have died that year. There are always several people I had no idea had passed away.
This all makes me appreciate the New Year more and to value every day I have on this earth.
This year I decided to ask my readers what 10 things they were going to do in this next year or change.
Here is what some of you had to say you would try to do:
10. Be in less of a hurry.
9. Try to remember more important dates.
8. Take more time to read instead of watching television. (Hey, the St. Louis American is a great place to start.)
7. Visit sick friends and relatives more often.
6. Not get another speeding ticket. (Notice they did not say “slow down my driving.”)
5. Spend more time with my children.
4. Try to keep from being late to appointments.
3. Get through an entire day without taking a nap. (Okay, that one is mine.)
2. Walk more and exercise regularly.
1. Pray more and worry less.
Well, it seems like our readers have a great outlook on this new year. I thank those of you for giving me your answers. Have a Happy New Year!
It is time for me to take my nap. Hey, it is still 2006 for a few more days.
Thanks for sharing
