One night

I had a dream that it was the day of temptation and everybody had a

tree of forbidden fruit in their front yard and if they ate from

the tree they were in grave danger. In the dream I told myself that

no matter what, I would not eat of the tree. So I took out a box of

cereal that contained a great amount of fiber and I ate enough to

fill me up so that when I went outside I would not be hungry and

tempted to eat of the tree. As I proceeded out of the front door

and began to walk down the street I saw so many people that had

eaten of the forbidden tree and right before my eyes they were

losing their gifts, talents and even their health.

awakening I felt the Lord impress upon my heart that we all have

our gardens that we live in and in our gardens are trees and every

day we are faced with a decision to live out the Word of God or to

act rebellious against His will. God warned Adam about this very

thing in Genesis 2:15-17 “And the LORD God took the man, and

put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the

LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden

thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good

and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest

thereof thou shalt surely die.”

gave Adam and Eve many trees that they were allowed to freely

enjoy, but instead of being grateful and thankful for the many

trees, they were distracted and thrown off focus by the

one tree that they were not allowed to have. How many of

us are trying to grab for things that God has commanded us not to

touch?

Bible says in 1John 2: 15-17, “Love not the world, neither the

things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love

of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust

of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is

not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away,

and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth

forever.”

“font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: Verdana; mso-fareast-font-family:”>We

must first face ourselves in order to overcome any temptation.

Don’t forfeit your gifts and talents for dangerous temptations.

Confess to God your sin and get far away from the temptation as

possible. Fill yourself up with the word of God and pretty soon you

will have no desire for the temptation anymore. You must put on the

Lord Jesus and make no provision for your flesh, to fulfill its

lust. Eat the fiber of life which is God’s word, and

live.
